What are Your Beliefs about Your Identity?

Get a pen and paper, or if you don’t like to write with your hand, take your phone or computer to make notes on. Now settle down somewhere and take three deep breaths in through your nose and very slowly out through your mouth. Allow yourself to become still even if your mind is not. Just watch it if it doesn’t want to shut up.

What do you identify with?

Keep breathing into this empty space and then ask yourself: What does it mean to be a woman, a man, or whatever you identify with in this body you have?

Allowing what is

Allow anything that comes into your mind to be there without judging or feeling guilty about it, and write it down. Keep in mind that there’s no right or wrong here. You may be surprised about what comes up! Sometimes, deep-rooted beliefs that seem outdated, even ridiculous to our logical mind, show up.

Our mind tells us our Identity

Anyway, just be open to receiving all the connections. Your mind has about what it means to be in this female or male body.
Once nothing else comes up, spend some time emptying yourself again; stay silent. Thank your brain for giving you all this information.

Insights about Identity

Afterwards, read all the statements you wrote down. Be open to the insights that may come. Sometimes, just knowing something that was hidden is enough. And other times, you need help because they seem overwhelmingly strong.

Transforming Identity

If you feel some are no longer needed, and you want to change them, I’m happy to help you with that through a technique called tapping. I find tapping (or EFT) immensely helpful for changing limiting, outdated beliefs/truths. And it can even be fun! If you don’t know tapping yet, here are some videos I did some time ago. It works by tapping on acupressure points to regulate your energy and emotions.
