The different techniques and methods
What is Jin Shin Do Acupressure?
Jin Shin Do Acupressure combines ancient knowledge of Chinese medicine with acupuncture points and the accompanying philosophy. That includes all the physical, emotional, and spiritual components. Added to this is the psychological research of energy blockages of Wilhelm Reich and working with altered states of the mind of the Hypnose specialist Milton Erickson.
I almost always include this method in any bodywork session because it’s so versatile and efficient!
It’s helping with many physical and emotional challenges like:
- PMS, menopause, hormonal balance
- Sleep difficulties
- Arthritis, joint problems
- migraine headaches
- fatigue
- constipation and digestive problems
- allergies
and many more! Let me know what you need, and we’ll find a way!
Please read the Jin Shin Do disclaimer here
“It impresses me every time how smoothly the energy flows through my body after the treatment. It’s gentle and, at the same time, deep.”
Geny L., Ste-Adèle
What does a session look like?
Speaking together, we see what your concern is. And then, if it’s appropriate and seems helpful, I will take your pulse to evaluate the energy flow in your meridians.
Then, you will lie down, fully dressed, on your back on the table. Except if you’re uncomfortable because of tight clothes, you can take off what you need and will be covered by a sheet or blanket.
During the session, I’ll be helping you to stay continuously in contact with your body by asking you about your sensations, emotions, and maybe memories.
This method balances energy in the body. It brings energy to where there’s not enough and takes away from where there is too much.
I’ll help you move through whatever comes up, hold the space for you to experience and be with what is evoked, and allow the body-mind to become harmonious and peaceful.
What is Hakomi?
Ron Kurtz, the founder of the Hakomi method, called it: “assisted self-study in mindfulness”.
Hakomi is a therapeutical approach that uses mindfulness in the body and mind to uncover hidden structures and beliefs that make us suffer. Once they are made conscious, it’s possible to change them!
I want to emphasize this method’s fundamental approach to being in a “Loving Presence” with the other. That means I am noticing what is already alright, good, helpful, inspiring, strong and healthy in the person I am with. This sets the tone for the session. Knowing that there are already resources and inspiring qualities in the other and not seeing the client as a bundle of problems.
The person wouldn’t be there if there hadn’t been particular strengths to make her/him overcome whatever she/he had to go through.
I use the Hakomi method whenever my clients come to me with curiosity and a need to transform negative patterns.
This method can work as well in person as by video conference through the screen.
How does a Hakomi session work?
When we talk about your challenge, I listen to whatever beliefs are behind it and, at the same time, watch your body language, posture and the way you do and say things. This shows me your story. We don’t need much background information because it’s all already here, in your body!
Then, having a hypothesis to start with, we do, if you’re willing and open to it, an experiment in mindfulness, either verbal or physical.
Let me explain, and give you an example:
Maybe I heard from what you’re telling me: “I’m not good enough.”
I could propose the affirmation: “You are good enough.”
But not right away! Because in our mind, we usually do think that we have this or that, are good enough, in this case. So to get to the underlying belief, we need to become mindful before doing the experiment.
What does it mean to be Mindful?
Mindful means you become quiet and don’t listen to all the chatter in your mind anymore. You just don’t follow it. You become neutral and open to whatever there is. That includes words, emotions, and things that happen inside and outside. It’s like in meditation when you stop following the usual flow of the mind, of the feelings and of the body. You may have emotions or body sensations. Like with the mind, you notice, and you let them be. You don’t entertain them. You’re in a neutral witnessing state without judging yourself or whatever is around you.
Now we can do the experiment.
Let’s come back to the example:
You are in a mindful state. So, now I will say to you: “Just notice what happens right away; you don’t need to think about it, analyze or judge it. Just listen, feel, sense into whatever is coming up when you hear me say: (PAUSE and then) Name* (I will say your name), you are good enough as you are!”
Maybe a memory pops up. Like, for example, when you were trying to ski for the first time, and someone told you you’re bad at it. There are so many ways your system shows you what is behind this belief. And then we follow what came up, and by discovering what is underneath it, we can rectify and correct whatever old, outdated beliefs there are.
When we were little, beliefs allowed us to survive in difficult situations where we were utterly dependent on our caretakers. Nowadays, we are adults and independent. We got plenty of resources. So, the present situation is totally different.
“Sujati has a warm, comfortable and highly intuitive approach to doing EFT. I’ve been engaged in getting at some deep wounds, and Sujati and I worked together on several painful memories. I felt safe, heard, and empathically supported. Sujati truly knows what she is doing and communicates her wisdom and perspective in such a respectful, caring way.”

We can also do a physical experiment:
For example, your head is bent to one side while talking. Looking at and listening to you, I may have the idea that your head wants to be supported.
Then I suggest doing this experiment where I take over the weight of your head so that your head is held by my hands, for example. And you, in a mindful state, will just notice whatever comes up while your head is resting in my hand.
Again, all kinds of sensations, memories, emotions, and feelings can come up, and we’ll work with them.
We will find out what was missing in the situation you remembered that came up with the experiment. Then we can, with imagination or in a role-play, do whatever you needed at that moment.
In the case of the support of the head, it could be something like me telling you, while holding your head, that I’m there for you, that you’re not alone, and that you have support. This, together with the head holding, will have a transformative change for the better.
Letting in the information that you don’t need to do everything alone and that support is available can considerably change your life!

“I feel so wonderful from the work that you shared with me… a lightness and a peaceful feeling that is still with me… Thank you for so generously giving of your gifts! I do believe you helped me clear something that has been with me a long, long time.… your soothing voice is in my mind, along with an image of your angelic face (you are an angel when you are sharing your gifts…).”
With love and gratitude », Helen M., Oregon
What is Tapping – Emotional Freedom Technique?
When I did the Transformational Business Training in 2012 with Pamela Bruener, an expert EFT practitioner, I didn’t expect it to become such an essential part of my practice. Yet, I easily decipher beliefs because I already had done so many years in Hakomi training and assisting. And this is immensely helpful while tapping.
Because then we can dismantle the assumptions and truths which are not valid anymore. After that, we adjust our views, beliefs, and perceptions of the world and ourselves, in which we feel much better!
Wouldn’t you rather believe something that makes you feel good? Especially since we often focus on beliefs, little voices inside our heads, that make us feel shitty!
Tapping works for so many things; it’s not called for nothing emotional freedom technique (EFT) 😉 Freedom from overwhelming emotions. And more than that! It’s also a way to transmute all the negative input we had from conditioning, bad experiences, traumas, accidents and mishaps. So that we can feel love, joy, and possibilities and be at peace.
How does Tapping work
It’s relatively simple, even if it initially seems a bit ridiculous. We use acupressure points, which are points on the energy circuits in the body and tap on them. But, if you don’t like to tap on your body for whatever reason, you can just touch the places. And that balances the whole energy system.
This helps your nervous system to calm down. When we are highly emotional, our brain doesn’t work anymore; that is: our human part of the brain, which can reason, understand, and find solutions. Only the reptilian brain is online under duress and stress.
And then our nervous system goes into fight-flight-freeze mode. This means we now have only three options to react to the situation at hand: Fight, flight, or freeze.
Once the nervous system has calmed down, we can connect all the different parts of our brain, the reptilian, the limbic (the emotional), and the cognitive, the human part of the brain.
Then it’s possible to understand, reason, and find solutions.
“I consulted Sujati for severe anxiety that triggered acid reflux. I felt the benefits from the first virtual meeting with her as if a window was finally opening to new possibilities for getting out of my inner turmoil. Sujati taught me how to do Tapping and encouraged me to challenge painful beliefs to explore more peaceful ways of seeing things. I was in extreme distress before I came to her. I felt stronger in just a few meetings and now have more tools to gently calm anxiety and reflux. Thank you, Sujati!” Catherine B.
What is holistic massage?
Generally speaking, holistic massage means that the person as a whole is seen, touched, and listened to. This massage combines many different methods, depending on what’s most beneficial for the client.
My purpose is to make you feel relaxed, energized, light, at ease, and connected to your body. You can also be in contact with your emotions while slowing down or stilling the constant chatter in your mind.
The whole body is touched with an allergen-free gel except your private parts, which keep covered at all times.
“The other day, you brought me back so much in my body that I feel the energy; I cannot ignore it (!), it is disturbing! But at the same time, thank you, it’s funny… it gave me such a boost; I’m good to attack the autumn and the cold that is coming 😉
For my right arm, I think you have solved the problem! It’s the first time I’ve been pain-free for about 6 months. In one session, which was long, I admit, it’s strong! It’s very, very strong ;).”
